In my on going quest to identify and bring to you amazing Newark eateries I would like to introduce you to Burger Bound. Only one month old, Burger Bound is Newark’s newest comfort food restaurant. I visited Burger Bound after riding down Van Buren Street in the Ironbound (get it IronBOUND Burger BOUND lol) and mourning the loss of one of my favorite places Misavi for about the 100th time. I was pleasantly surprised to see that almost overnight the empty building located at 62 Van Buren Street had been transformed into a brightly covered restaurant.

How cute is this! Burger Bound serves its fries in a miniature fry basket! These are the Truffle Parmesan fries. So good!
Now yes, you can get a burger almost anywhere in Newark but the cool thing about Burger Bound is that its burgers are made with 100% organic meat and include all natural ingredients. Don’t think for a minute that this makes for boring menu. Burger Bound has some pretty interesting choices ranging from the traditional cheeseburger to a salmon burger. Its menu also includes vegetarian option with its black bean burger. Burger Bound also has soups, hot dogs, and salads and you can round out your meal with a delicious choice of french fries (there are 5 varieties). I had the truffle & Parmesan fries and they were amazing! If you have any room left ( I didn’t) dive right in to one of 5 dessert offerings.

Burger Bound is a solid burger joint with great food and a great atmosphere. Owned by Francisco Rosa and Rodrigo DaSilva, 2 guys who got their culinary start in Newark, Burger Bound turns “what’s normally considered “fast food”, into a “high-quality priority” family food concept.” I definitely felt like family while I was there.
